Connect hardware and the store agent

Add devices, connect printers and drawers to the register, and install the store agent.

1. Add devices in the back office

Open Settings → Hardware and choose Add device. Pick the kind (receipt printer, cash drawer, label printer, scale, display, pump controller…) and the model. The settings form shows exactly what that device needs. You can save a device before the hardware arrives.

2. USB and serial devices on the register

  1. At the register, open Shift → Devices.
  2. Choose Connect next to the printer or drawer and pick it from the browser's list (Chrome/Edge).
  3. Use Test to print a test receipt and kick the drawer.

Tip: Printing goes straight to the printer — never the print pop-up. For PC printers without ESC/POS, run Chrome with --kiosk-printing.

3. Android terminals

Install the register as an app (see POS Register). Built-in printers, scanners and displays are used through the LeisureNexus Android bridge; terminals without a scanner can scan with the camera.

4. Install the store agent

The store agent is needed for pump controllers, tank gauges and network printers.

  1. On a Windows PC at the store, install Node 22 and the LeisureNexus store agent.
  2. In Settings → Hardware → Store agent, create a pairing token and paste it into the agent's settings.
  3. Install it as a Windows service so it starts with the PC.
  4. The device list shows the agent as online with its version.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Printer not found: unplug and reconnect, then Connect again in Shift → Devices.
  • Agent offline: check the PC is on and connected; the register falls back to the cloud relay when the local bridge is unavailable.
