Selling fuel at the counter
| Situation | What the cashier does |
|---|---|
| Prepay | Tap the pump → Prepay… → amount → take payment. If they pump less, Prepay change owed → Give change (cash) or the card is refunded. Example: $40 on pump 3, pumped $36.12 → $3.88 change. |
| Pay after | Tap the pump → Authorize (pay after) → when the customer comes in, Add to sale. |
| Emergency | Stop pump for one, Stop all in the top bar for every pump. |
| Fleet | Pay → Fleet: driver ID, vehicle, odometer. |
Prices
Fuel & pumps → Current prices / Change prices: cash and credit price per gallon; When schedules a change (e.g. 6:00 am tomorrow), empty changes it now. Fuel lines get no added sales tax, no promotions and no SNAP.
Tanks and margin
- Tank stock → Record stick reading daily and Record delivery with BOL number, supplier, gallons, water and invoice cost.
- Losses over 0.5% of fuel pumped are flagged.
- Fuel sales and margin by grade and pump; Pump meters vs POS shows leaks or missed sales.
