What you get

Choosing Rental adds Rentals to the back office and the register: hour, day and week rates, a deposit with each rental, numbered units that are never double-booked, check-in with a damage check, late fees worked out for you and an availability calendar. You can rent alongside Retail or any other kind of business.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Administration → Your business → tick Rental (and Retail if you also sell items).
  2. Catalog → Items: each thing you rent (e.g. "Mountain bike") → tick Rented out and set the hour, day and/or week rates, the deposit and the grace minutes before a late fee.
  3. Point of sale → Rentals → Add a unit for each one you own: Bike 1, Bike 2, with serial numbers.
  4. Pair registers and try a rental: add a customer, Rentals → New rental, hand it over, then check it in.

Good to know

  • The rent is the cheapest mix of your hour, day and week rates for the time the customer has it.
  • A damaged unit goes to maintenance and isn't rented until you put it back.
  • A unit can't be booked or handed over twice for the same time.
